Somewhere between Selfish and Selfless

Scroll down to content

Selfless, she was born,

like the first rays of the dawn;

everything pure and glistening land,

But oh, the sun rose pretty soon;

and the light melted her cocoon.

Selfless- you are admired,

but you see, too naive to be respected,

& oops are you even real to be loved & desired?

A heart with a hole, selfishness on a troll,

Will she wear it? but she knows its a fake jewel,

Alluring but eats away your skin, your soul.

By evening she was lost, Selfless or Selfish?

My love, both for this world are mere blemishes,

Find yourself somewhere between.

She is ready for the new day now, determined & strong;

but I fear, another day also has dawn.
